Pick-up Points

  • 08:00am - Europa Hotel

Itinerary

  • Depart Belfast

Set off from Belfast and head towards Northern Ireland’s north coast. The scenic drive along the Antrim Road offers spectacular views of the countryside, where green hills meet the dramatic cliffs of the Irish Sea.

NB: We meet in front of the famous Europa Hotel, on Great Victoria Street, BT2 7AP - right in the very heart of Belfast. (The bus typically collects from Glengall Street, just off Great Victoria Street - so keep a watchful eye)
  • 09:30 – Photo Stop at Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge

Pause for a short stop at Carrick-a-Rede, famous for its rope bridge connecting the mainland to the small island of Carrick.

Suspended 30 meters above the Atlantic, the bridge offers panoramic views of the coastline and nearby Rathlin Island. While the bridge is no longer open for public crossing due to conservation measures—groups larger than five are restricted, and the site is now a protected area—you’ll still have the opportunity to take in the striking scenery from the viewpoint.

The rugged cliffs and ocean below create an awe-inspiring backdrop for your photos.
  • 10:00 – Arrive at the Giant’s Causeway

Arrive at the world-renowned Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most extraordinary natural landscapes in the world.

Over 60 million years ago, volcanic eruptions formed around 40,000 interlocking hexagonal basalt columns, creating a truly surreal scene. The legend behind it tells of a giant, Finn McCool, building the causeway to cross to Scotland—though the geology tells a different story of ancient volcanic activity.

As you walk along the Causeway’s fascinating formations, take time to appreciate the natural beauty of the landscape, from the jagged columns to the crashing waves below. Your guide will explain the history and geology behind this extraordinary site, ensuring a deeper understanding of its significance.
  • 11:30 – Depart Giant’s Causeway

After an hour and a half exploring the Causeway, we will make our way back to Belfast.
  • 12:45 – Drive Through the Dark Hedges

On the return journey, we pass through the Dark Hedges, one of the most photographed natural landmarks in Northern Ireland.

This striking avenue of ancient beech trees, their twisted branches arching overhead, creates a hauntingly beautiful tunnel of greenery. Famously featured in *Game of Thrones*, the Dark Hedges are a must-see for any fan of the series, as well as those who appreciate natural beauty.

We won’t be stopping here, but you’ll have plenty of time to admire the view as we drive through.
  • 13:00 – Arrive Back in Belfast

Return to Belfast after a memorable journey through some of Northern Ireland’s most iconic landscapes, leaving you with lasting impressions of its natural wonders.
