Mid morning: Arrive in beautiful Glendalough, less than an hours drive from Dublin. This is our Tour Guide's most popular place of natural beauty. Youll hear of Celtic christianity and how our ancient ancestors transformed this little Island into the magical 'Isle of Saints & Scholars'.
If youre a fan of the Hollywood Blockbuster 'Braveheart' then you will now officially be in the set! You'll totally understand why Mel Gibson (an Irish passport holder!) chose the Wicklow mountains to be the HIghlands of Scotland and Glendalough to be the spot for the wedding scene - be ready for super romantic!!
Stroll along the lakside paths and hikes; explore the ancient monastic city and its impressive ruins, high Celtic crosses and round Tower - all surrounded by dense forests in a deep valley
Lunchtime: Arrive in Kilkenny city. Roam the picturesque, windy and cobblestoned streets.
